Visit Falls Lake and Falls Dam, both easily accessible from North Raleigh.  There are two paths to Falls Dam, one is a nice stroll from the parking lot on 12098 Falls of Neuse Rd, the other is straigh up from the base of the dam on Falls of Neuse Rd.  Either way, the view is great from up here!
